Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book.
It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English.
Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy. Various versions have evolved over the years, sometimes by accident, sometimes on purpose (injected humour and the like).
There are many variations of passages of Lorem Ipsum available, but the majority have suffered alteration in some form, by injected humour, or randomised words which don’t look even slightly believable.
If you are going to use a passage of Lorem Ipsum, you need to be sure there isn’t anything embarrassing hidden in the middle of text. All the Lorem Ipsum generators on the Internet tend to repeat predefined chunks as necessary, making this the first true generator on the Internet.
It uses a dictionary of over 200 Latin words, combined with a handful of model sentence structures, to generate Lorem Ipsum which looks reasonable. The generated Lorem Ipsum is therefore always free from repetition, injected humour, or non-characteristic words etc.

Applied Science University (ASU) announced the approval of the Higher Education Council for its application to grant “Dual Award” degrees for its hosted programs in partnership with London South Bank University (LSBU) in Britain, which means that graduates of these British programs will obtain two bachelor degrees after graduation, one from ASU and the other from LSBU.
The dual award degrees provide students with the opportunity to acquire academic qualifications from both ASU and LSBU, which enhance their skills and increase their opportunities and chances in the labor market after their graduation.
On this occasion, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Professor Waheeb Alkhaja, expressed his thanks and gratitude to the Minister of Education and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Higher Education Council, His Excellency Dr. Muhammad Bin Mubarak Juma, the Supreme Council for the Development of Education and Training, the Higher Education Council, and the Education and Training Quality Authority for their tireless efforts in developing higher education in Bahrain and their constant perseverance in supporting the educational system in the Kingdom.
The Chairman of the Board of Trustees also indicated that the awarding of the “Dual Award” degree at ASU enhances the University’s attractiveness to students from outside Bahrain, and also showcases that universities in Bahrain are capable of implementing the best practices in higher education in the world, thanks to all the support they receive here in Bahrain.
For his part, the President of the University, Professor Ammar Kaka, underlined that granting dual award degrees will bring many benefits to the students, as it will enable them to obtain an international degree from LSBU and a local degree from ASU, thus giving them a competitive advantage in the labor market and setting them apart from their peers.
It is worth mentioning that ASU collaborates with LSBU to offer 6 distinguished academic programs at the Bachelor level, 4 Engineering programs at the College of Engineering (BEng (Hons) Architectural Engineering, BEng (Hons) Civil Engineering, BEng (Hons) Mechanical Engineering and BEng (Hons) Electrical and Electronic Engineering), one bachelor program at the College of Administrative Sciences (BA (Hons) Business Management) and one at the College of Law (LLB (Hons) Law).
